Art History Series - Ancient Beginnings
Last year’s Art Appreciation class was so successful, we’ve decided to offer it again from the beginning!
Join us as we take a journey through time, discovering the many ways that artists “create”, and how their work conveys a unique perspective on the human experience.
This course will start with the amazing prehistoric cave art from 30,000 years ago; then continue up through the classical Greek and Roman periods; and finish with the Medieval period. There are no textbooks or tests for this class, and no prior experience with art is necessary…just come and enjoy! (Class will continue in January.)

Paint ‘n Sip Workshop: Meditate and Create! “Manifesting Blessings for the New Season”
This art-and-meditation workshop is the perfect opportunity to stop, take a “breather”, and get centered for the busy Fall season ahead.
This theme also fits nicely with the upcoming Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashana, which is a time to reflect and to connect with family and friends, wishing all a “Sweet New Year”.
Our cut-and-paste collage project centers around the theme of “Home”. You can think of the Home as a physical entity, or the Home of your soul/spirit. What will fill your home this season? What beautiful things can you conjure up to fill your heart and soul? What intentions would you like to set for a sweet new season/year? Come and create the possibilities!
Class meets: Sunday, September 14th, from 10:30am – 12:30pm (2 hours)
Price: $45 per person ($40 for JCC members)
Supplies are included; but feel free to bring xerox copies of family photos or other images to use in your collage.
